HOW IT ALL STARTED…

 What Started Off As Watching Inspiring YouTube Videos In 2012, In The Later Years 2013-2015 I Started To Create My Own Masterpieces And Even Joined A Career Path In Cosmetology While Still In High School. At That Point In Time I Wasn’t Really Brave Enough To Open A Business Just Yet. I Think About 2016 I Opened My Business Naming It ‘Be Beauty Boutique’ And I Think I Only Opened For About A Week Got To 10 Followers On Instagram And Hurried And Shut It Down Because I Was Too Nervous. But With The Help And Encouragement From My Bestfriend (Riyanah Thanks Girl) I Took A Leap Of Faith Again And Started My Business.

From Hair Extensions & Lashes To My Big Transition To Making Natural Products From Head To Toe. February 22nd 2019 Is When This Wonderful Brand Was Officially Born. I Had A Thing For Hair Extensions And Honestly I Loved Hair Extensions And I Do Still Love Them Now Just Not For My Brand Anymore, Let’s Just Say We Had A Toxic Relationship 😅But Back Then I Was Called DollFace Extensions. From there, my product line grew to include lip gloss, loungewear, to kicking it off with makeup and just a full blown clothing line and having to do a name change again being called DollFace Kollections.

I Have Done Many Name Changes As Mentioned Before For 1 Week In 2016 I Was Called Be Beauty Boutique, 2019-2020 I Was DollFace Extensions, 2020-2021 I Was The DollFace Kollection (Now Keep In Mind Just Because I Took The Leap Of Faith To Start My Business, Didn’t Mean I Was Not Afraid Of People Knowing I Started A Business So I Steered Clear Of Using My Actual Name So I Had No Ties And Nobody Would Find Out. I Think About 2020 Is When The App Called Club House Came Out And Thats Where I Let Go Of The Fear I Had) 2021-Present I Have Been Called AiriLasha Co. (combo of my first name and middle name).

 I Can honestly say what made me pivot my whole business and the changes i have made with my business. I didnt have a back story on why i was even selling all of those things what was the passion behind it? I don’t think i did i honestly think i was following a trend but i accept that part in business because i learned alot in just the first year of having DollFace. Im glad i experienced the many challenges i face because the true story and the turning point for me was when I added skincare.

I Had a story to tell when it came to skincare and haircare. Like many of you, I struggled with finding products that catered to me and my son’s sensitive skin so i had bigger things on my mind than hair extensions. Of Course You Kind Of Get Where The Story Is Going And I Know It Sounds Cliche But I Promise This Is What Births The Best Skincare & Bodycare Products Because Of The Experiences With Trial And Error, With Using What The Doctor Claims Will Help Heal, To Having To Take Matters In Your Own Hands To Research And Create Things That You Know Will Help And Heal Vs He Say She Say That Goes On In The Doctoral And Pharmaceutical World To Keep Them With A Job. We Had Of Course Everything The Doctor Prescribed And Those Products Did Nothing. All Of Those Chemicals To Literally Be Where We Started When We Brought Up Our Concerns. That’s When I Started Researching Once I Seen How Harmful Those Products We’re And Then Venturing And Finding Problems With Almost Everything In My Bathroom Closet I Started Creating My Own Cosmetics, Haircare, Skincare, & Bodycare Products.

i dived deeper into ingredients, nature and what will work for me and my family. I became a first time mommy july 6th 2018 being a mother is such a beautiful thing but there is alot they didnt tell you about you and babies body. I experienced horrible things with my body after becoming a mom. My skin felt like snake skin, sometimes when i stretched it literally felt like my skin was cracking and can feel the pull, my hair was falling out in patches, my girl down there she was all out of whack, i kept getting boils no matter how clean and kept her and overly cleaning with the wrong products i ended up giving myself yeast infections and with breastfeeding lets just say i found out your nipples can get just as chapped as lips… and as for my little one his skin was having a battle within itself he always use to have these tiny bumps all over his body and his skin was suffering from both hypopigmentation (light spots) & hyperpigmentation (dark spots). Not to name drop brands but most of the store bought baby soaps always broke him out even the ‘sensitive’ collections they had. As for me i wasnt having any luck either Every time I thought I had found a solution, a new issue would arise from the product that was suppose give us a solution to our problem, whether it was drying our skin even more or causing more irritation. I grew fustrated and just went to his doctor for help and that was like doing it on my own as you all know their answers are toxic chemicals and steriods, which, after researching, I discovered could be linked to long-term health concerns, hormonal imbalance and cancer so those options were quickly marked off the list and that was the journey of sleepless nights on top of sleepless nights from being a new mom but the research had to be done. 

Fast Forward A Few Months I started learning more about the different herbs, oils, and butters. The very first product i made was a body butter i started using on my skin and hair noticed a huge difference and it was also safe to apply to my breast during breastfeeding as well. Although it didnt work for my first borns uneven skin tone it did take his break outs away with the help of the oatmeal in the body butter. But that journey wasnt over yet i was still researching on how to get his skin to become even. As i seen the changes i gave samples away to my mom and mothers coworkers and my family and friends who also vouched for my products and started putting in requests and testing my abilities of what all products i can make and from there I realized that my true passion was creating skincare, haircare, bodycare and feminine hygiene products. I honestly was never as happy as i am with skincare, hair extensions was like fun that passed time but skincare that line started in 2020 and here we are years later and my love is still growing for skincare and its so therapeutic for me and i have a success story to back up my products and that within itself sparked a new love i had for this category in the beauty industry.
